Kingston, JA (Mpr Consulting/Shuzzr PR) – Producers Young Veterans are back at it again with the release of their popular series “Rahtid Series”. This latest 18 tracks compilation consists of songs produced by Young Veterans with some of the biggest name in Reggae and dancehall music.

Although Young Veterans are currently producing albums for various artists, this yearly album compilation is of importance to them, it is their producers choice album in which they highlight their creativity. The songs chosen for this album vary from the conscious reggae with songs like “Call on Jah Name” by Warrior King, to dancehall favorites such as “Bubble” by Vybz Kartel ft Tina Nunezz.

The title “Rahtid” came from playfulness more than thoughtfulness. While searching for a name for the first compilation, producer Sheldon of Young Veterans vented some frustration by stating we need a ‘Rahtid’ name and as simple as that, there it was!

It came as no surprise that dancehall’s reigning princess, Spice, turned the heat up at last night’s Reggae Sumfest, Montego Bay, as soon as she hit the stage. However, what fans couldn’t predict were her eye-popping clothing designs and stage props.
The Fun deejay who made her entrance to the stage in a carriage and emerged in an outfit equally reminiscent of the Elizabethan Era immediately got the musical pot bubbling with a remake of Adele’s Someone Like You to which she received a round of roars from the audience.

She then went into her hit single Jim Screechie and its follow-up single Run Joe, a new stage show favourite, Artiste Incarceration where she spoke of the numerous artistes in jail, Fight Ova ManAh Nuh MeGrab Yuh H**dSlim vs FluffyInna BedBody Great and Ska Ska medley.

The performance was a hit with the fans and she was called back for an encore, where she gave a star-quality performance of Baby Father and a remake of Celine Dion’s I’m Your Lady.
Spice says, “I’m sure a lot of persons were surprised with the carriage and the outfit, the extremely long hair, and all of that, but I am an entertainer. I did drama in high school, so everything for me has to be extremely well-planned, because I like a themed-performane. This year I did an Elizabethan era theme because I wanted something no one else would think of. I don’t want my fans coming out to hear the same things that they do on the radio; simply coming out and redoing the songs and getting off-stage is not enough for me to give the fans. So every year I give my fans the show of their life and something that’s their money’s worth. I’m thankful to everyone who came out and I had a great time; I hope they did too.”

Countdown to Chino’s Japan Album Begins

July 20, 2012
In less than two months, singjay Chino McGregor will release what promises to be another stellar album for the Japan market.

The still untitled album will be released in early September to coincide with his Japan tour to promote the album. The celebrated artiste is no stranger to the market; in fact, not only have all his previously released albums done well, but they have also topped the charts in the region.

Chino’s sophomore Japan album, Never Change, released in the summer of 2010 shot to the second spot on the iTunes Reggae chart, where it remained for a number of weeks. In addition, later that year his hit single, From Mawnin’, also featured on the album went on to become the number one purchased and downloaded track/ringtone on Japan’s most established ringtone site, Reggae Zion. This was the first time anyone outside the region had accomplished such a feat.

Chino says he not only hopes to replicate this success in the region, “We have been putting in a lot of work into the album and hopefully it will be well received by the fans there and we will be able to reach more fans in the Japan market.”

The singer who recently released his Rich Tomorrow video, and the Miss Universe single says fans can expect the video for Be Around (Ride or Die) – which is a follow up to the Miss Universe single – in a few days. In addition, fans can catch the ace-singer performing at this weekend’s JCDC Festival Queen Competition finals.
