Alaine’s ‘Walking on Air’ Birthday Celebration

Alaine will be celebrating her birthday live in concert at Redbones Blues Café on Friday, September 21, 2012. This will also mark the first staging of her charity event ‘Walking on Air’.  The songbird is using this concert as a fundraising effort to help members of our communities who are less fortunate. All proceeds from the concert will be given to two charities – the Music Education programme at Allman Town Primary School and Mary’s Child.

For years now Alaine has been quietly doing her charity work at the Allman Town Primary School where she has adopted its music education programme and from which, the children to enter the JCDC Music Festival of Arts and performing at the Bank of Jamaica’s lunch hour concert series.

Mary’s Child, Alaine’s other charity of interest is operated by the Mustard Seed Communities. Mary’s Child is a residential home for twelve teenage mothers and their babies for up to one year. The home provides academic instructions, skills training and counseling services for the residents to live a successful life after leaving the home.

Walking on Air’ which is Alaine’s latest single, will be launched at the event and is meant to empower – ‘when you show love to someone else, it elevates them to a level to make them feel like walking on air – there anything is possible.  This is the experience I want all to take from the concert – both patrons and the recipients of the proceeds’ Alaine explained.

This event will be Alaine’s first live concert with her new band – 1Thirty1 and patrons can expect Alaine to deliver all her chart topping hits spanning her electrifying 8 years in the business.  Some special friends who she has collaborated with over the years will also join her to complete the entertainment package that will leave all in attendance ‘walking on air’.

‘Music has blessed me and it is a blessing to be able to give back.  This is the biggest gift I could get’   – Alaine
