KINGSTON, JAMAICA – February 15, 2013 – For years Jah9 has bestowed soul-stirring performances and carefully selected singles on the world. Now, Jazz on Dub singer, Jah9 is a week away from unveiling her first album – New Name – set for release on February 26.

Jah9’s previous musical projects include her 2011 EP 9MM- Message Music produced by Rory ‘Stone Love’ Gilligan. This dynamic pair has collaborated again to bring usNew Name, her highly anticipated debut album.  This combination of Gilligan, a Reggae music veteran, and Jah9, a relatively fresh face and sound to Roots Reggae, is a prime example of extraordinary new talent being nurtured by established leaders in the music industry.

Jah9, a Yoga instructor with deep spiritual roots, believes that all things happen just as they should, when they should. As such, she has learned to practice patience along her musical journey. “I surrender all plans to the will of the Most High,” she affirms. When asked about this project, she describes it as “an evolution of faith, which has now culminated in the public declaration of the truth I have found.”

The New Name launch will happen at Redbones Blues Café (1 Argyle Road, Kingston 10), where Jah9 will perform songs from the 12-track album. The event will begin at 7pm with radio personality Elise Kelly guiding the night’s proceedings. 

The New Name launch will be free and open to the public, along with live streaming of the event on Copies of the album will also be available for purchase.
